The Epic Fail of Pick up Lines

Many times people struggle with finding the right way to approach someone that they find appealing. Unless you're the type that doesn't care about the intellect of another person, it's likely that pick up lines just don't work. Generally speaking, the more intelligent a person is, the more that they view intelligence as sexy, and as something that they hope to find in their future partner. Before people even get into the dating scene and put themselves out there to meet someone new, it's important to have a good idea of what you're looking for in another person. Intelligence is usually on most of our lists as must have's. I always talk about how you should be yourself and the importance of keeping it real in relationships. However, in this article I hope to shed some light as to why pick up lines are not a good idea.

It's important to be genuine and real in your approach when meeting someone new. You can't expect that someone is going to fall for a silly line that you say. There are much better ways to get someone's attention other than saying some phony, and possibly repeated empty statement. For example, try having a beautiful smile on your face and displaying positive energy. There's something beautiful about a smile, and an optimistic approach when having hopes to get someone's attention. No one wants to talk to someone that's phony baloney. I can honestly tell you that I don't even give ten seconds to people that come up with cheesy pick up lines. I wouldn't want to waste my time or theirs, and if I was you, I wouldn't waste your time listening either.

Don't be the person that says pick up lines, and don't waste your time listening to them. If you're trying to get someone's attention, try being yourself, and take the high road by being genuine and just saying, Hello, I'm so-and-so, etc. Try giving a genuine compliment of something that you may find beautiful about the person. Whatever you do, keep it real, and keep it genuine. Confidence and a smile is a lot more effective than an over-used pick up line, in which by the way, they might've already heard. Many people are quite appalled by pick up lines altogether. But those cheesy ones, oh man! Don't even bother trying them.
