How to Keep the Fire Alive in Relationships

It's important to know what you want in life, in love, the same way that it's important to go after it. Many times people know what they want, but they put zero effort into attaining it. I'm not sure whether it's lack of drive, effort, or the will to do what it takes to go after what they want. But, they won't get too far in life, unless they wake up, and push towards their dreams. Whether it's in their work life, going towards their career goals, and even when it comes to relationships, and putting in the right amount of effort towards them. Knowing what you want is essential, going after it is even more crucial, but then there's the final point of maintaining what you want, in order so that it may last.

Many times during early dating, people put in a lot of effort, and slowly ease up on all of the effort that they put in, as they get to a certain point of comfort with their partner. It's important that we remember that it takes hard work to maintain a healthy and loving relationship. You can never get too comfortable if you ask me. Having a healthy, happy, and loving relationship takes long term effort, and you should remember to give your relationships the attention that they deserve. If you get too comfortable in your relationship, you're likely to put in less effort, have less romance, and feel as if, hey, your partner isn't going anywhere, because they're used to you, and they love you. That's just a bad mentality to have. It's important that you don't let relationships get sour like that, to the point where they end because of it.

People continuously need to feel loved, appreciated, and cherished throughout the relationship, and not only in the beginning. If you go about relationships in the right manner, the honeymoon phase can last a lifetime. It's true that during early dating, there are some feelings that feel just like a honeymoon, because everything during a honeymoon is new, and likely very exciting to the couple. However, it's important to keep things exciting and new feeling throughout a relationship, and as well when you're married. You never want to feel like your relationship or your marriage has become dull and boring. It's important to spice things up once in awhile. When I say to spice things up, you realize that I'm not solely talking about spicing things up in the bedroom. I'm referring to keeping things fun, unpredictable, spontaneous, and exciting throughout your relationship or marriage.

Let your partner know how much you care about them on a daily basis. Go out of your way for your partner, keep the magic alive, and extend yourself just a little bit more than you might be. Don't just show your partner how much you love them and are passionately into them with your words, but show them in your actions as well. There should be a good balance between what you say and what you do in all aspects of your life, and especially, in relationships. It's important to know and understand the importance of keeping the magic alive in relationships. Both people in a relationship should equally put effort into it, and that goes for all areas of the relationship.

Whether your partner lets you know it or not, at times, they might be feeling as if you're just going through the motions, that the spice is deteriorating, and that you might not be feeling the same magic that you felt in the beginning. Sure, feelings change throughout your life with your partner, and as people say, the honeymoon doesn't last forever, but that's not exactly accurate. The spice in your love life might be higher at times, and at other times a bit lower. That's totally normal. However, when you're aware that the spice is taking a turn for a downfall, spice things up a bit, and do something out of the ordinary.

The intensity of relationships and marriage doesn't have to fade over time, but instead, it can change over time, but for the better. So now that I have your attention, do something special for your loved one. Go out of your way, and make them feel that the fire and chemistry that you feel for them still exists. Show them that the magic and passion that you have for them is still alive and thriving. Go and make this Valentine's Day a great one. Happy Valentine's Day 2016!
