The Lakers announced earlier today that Kobe Bryant will be out of tomorrow's back to back game against the Trail Blazers. I guess he needs his rest. Well, Kobe is off to a great start in this game. I'm really rooting for Ed Davis to turn it on again like he did in the last game against the Grizzlies. The Pacers shot down 5 three's in the first ten minutes giving them a lead by 8. The first quarter ending with the Lakers trailing by 13 at 28-15.
Now that Kobe is back in the game, I'll write about the second quarter. The Lakers are still down by 10 with 6:40 to go in the half. C.J. Miles is playing a mean game tonight. He loves playing against the Lakers. The Lakers really need to snap out of it and play some decent basketball. This is just hard to watch. The Lakers have five turnovers and are still down by 10 points. We're really struggling in this first half. Going into the half Swaggy P hits a three. Halftime score is 48-41 Pacers
Third quarter, here we go! The Lakers are missing too many shots. Wesley Johnson is out of the game, and won't be going on the trip to Portland tomorrow along with Kobe. Wesley suffered a strained, right hip flexor. I'm starting to really like Ed Davis. His game has completely changed. He's really becoming fun to watch. Kobe just passed to Davis and Davis making the dunk. Their chemistry together is good. This is how I feel about Nick Young, but he's not really hitting most of his shots lately. Hopefully, that will change in this last quarter.
Kobe Bryant is really facilitating and making nice passes. He truly has become such a different player than the old, 81 point Kobe that I love. He's much more of a team player now. I can't deny, I like when Kobe shoots the ball more and takes over, but he is indeed getting a little older. Even Byron Scott wants Kobe to shoot a little more. Did I mention how much I like our coach?! I was just about to talk trash about Jeremy Lin and how unstable of a player he is, but just then, he turns his 2 points & 1 assist that he had in three quarters into 8 points, 1 assist, & 1 rebound. I must say, he just did that within two minutes. True though, sometimes he turns it on and plays a mean game of basketball and sometimes he's not really present. I'm glad he's turning on now though.
The Lakers have caught up, and are only one point down at the beginning of the fourth. Nick Young struggled in the first half, but is now the reason for the Lakers keeping it close. Boozer and Roy Hibburt got into a little quarrel. They called a flagrant on Boozer and a technical on Hibburt. Nick Young has been struggling from the field a bit tonight, but he sure can make his free throws! He's really an incredible free throw shooter. Wow! Swaggy P gets more free throws. He's now 12/12 at the free throw line. Kobe just hit an amazing shot giving Lakers the lead! There's my MVP!! The Pacers take back the lead, but not for long. Kobe hits another shot and the Lakers once again rise to the top. The Lakers get the win! Final score 88-87. Kobe stats were 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Nick Young had 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Ed Davis had 11 points and 6 rebounds. #GoLakers
