Do What Makes You Happy

When it comes to anything in life, it's important to take care of your priorities first. Whether it's your kids, family, health, work related things, or anything else, it's important that you do what you need to do, before doing what you want to do. Hey, sometimes what you want need to do is what you want to do. In love and relationships, I always talk about putting others before yourself. However, that doesn't mean that you don't matter, and that what you want doesn't count. It's important to make time for yourself. Whether or not you have a special cave that you go to for some alone time, whether you take a Saturday night out for yourself, get pampered somewhere, meditate, or just want some alone time to ponder in your thoughts, you should give yourself that time, that moment, and whatever you feel will make you feel good and happy inside.

Many times people get so consumed with everything in life, in love, and in relationships, that they don't leave time for themselves. Every needs some time to breathe so to speak. It's imperative that people remember to live a balanced life, and that goes for giving yourself an adequate amount of alone time, and time to absorb everything that goes on in your daily life. I'm not saying that people should live like hermits, and keep to themselves, because I believe that having a balanced social and love life can serve people in a very positive way. Keeping healthy relationships, being family oriented, and having great friendships is an essential part of staying balanced and happy. I'm merely saying that you should make the time to do what makes you happy on a personal level, and do whatever that is.

Getting consumed with the things that we do in our everyday lives, and being nurturing, and taking care of the needs of others is normal, and quite common. However, if you don't make time for yourself at all, and if you don't do nice things for yourself, you will end of feeling as if something is lacking in your life. You might even develop a type of bitterness that may come out later. It's important not to become a workaholic or get too consumed with anything or anyone to the point where you don't take care of your own wants and needs. Give yourself a moment to recoup, take a walk, breathe in some fresh air, go on a jog, turn your phone down, and let yourself be the most important person in your life, even if it's just for a moment. You deserve that. Everyone deserves that. 

If you're the type of person that likes a lot of attention, the center of attention even, or if you like being in environments that are busy and full of life, that's great! But, you need to remember that the party always dies down at some point. If you can't handle any alone time, you'll likely end up feeling down or depressed if no one is available to hang with you, or if no one is available to give you the attention that you crave in that moment. Learn to be alone, even if that's not how you want to predominantly live your life. When a person makes time to do what makes them happy, they'll likely be better off for themselves, and for others. Making time for yourself can be just as important as making time for others, because you'll likely end up becoming what most would consider (not to mention, you'll feel great) full of life.

Love and accept yourself enough to enjoy some time alone. No one should feel alone and empty simply because there's no one to spend time with. Love yourself enough to enjoy life, alone time, and give yourself some time alone to become a whole person, and especially before getting involved with other people. This goes for becoming someone's friend, getting into a relationship, and even making time for family. You'll feel more alive and full of life when you give yourself time to adjust to situations, and things that go on throughout your everyday life. It's important to take the time to absorb things that go on around you, and take in and release things that happen throughout your day. Give yourself time to breathe, destress, detox, feel fresh, and rejuvenated, so that you can take on the world all over again, when you're ready. Taking care of yourself should be something that you go out of your way to do. You should remember that taking care of yourself, and not just your needs, but your wants too, is everything in maintaining a balanced and happy life. Do what makes you happy!
