Sometimes people come into our lives and for reasons that we're never really sure of, until that moment. Some people are fortunate enough to meet a person that will blow their mind completely, and nearly make them feel as if their heart had skipped a beat, or such a feeling that possibly jolted them so intensely that they felt it everywhere throughout their being. Let's call this person "a soulmate." Many people have different views on whether or not we have one. Some people feel that we have many soulmates. In this article I wanted to express my opinion on whether or not one can meet their "soulmate" in an online dating site.
There are many, upon many places that you can meet someone to date. The only thing is that you have to put yourself out there. Many people go to work, go home, and then repeat the same routine the next day, and so on. That's not really putting yourself out there, unless you go to an amazing and happening place for coffee or lunch every day. Seriously though, you have to be active in life and search out every possible way and take advantage of every opportunity that comes along that could lead you to finding your match. If you don't, I truly believe that you're stalling the process of finding your soulmate.
As many of us single people know, you can't snap your fingers and miraculously, your soulmate will appear. As much as we'd like to think that if we pray hard enough, it will happen, and our true love that we've been waiting for will suddenly appear, when we're not even trying to meet someone in every way that we can. It's pretty simple, so heed my words. If you're not putting yourself out there, you won't meet anyone.
Once you've started to put yourself out there, other than the world getting a vision of your hot, sexy self, it's important to have an open heart and an open mind when it comes to meeting someone new (see: "Are You Afraid to Fall in Love?"). You can't expect anyone to be attracted to you superficially and merely for your looks, because any intelligent person, or dating master like myself (wink, wink) will be able to see right through you if you're closed off emotionally or mentally.
This brings us to the question on whether or not it's okay to try online dating. Many people are afraid to try it because of things that they've heard, and I'm hear to tell you that what you've heard is likely very true. If you're going to try dating online, you should do so cautiously, but I truly believe that it's just as safe as joining Facebook, and it's even much safer if you ask me. You only reveal what you choose to reveal online. When you choose to start interacting with someone that you've found an interest in, start slowly, as you would meeting anyone, and get to know the person. If you'd like, you can follow some of my suggestions in my previous articles. I 've written countless articles on the do's and don'ts of online dating, but you can start by reading one of them (see: "The Toxic World of Dating Sites").
It's important that when you're making a choice of expanding your options in meeting someone new, by trying to date someone that you've met online, that you know the positives and negatives that meeting someone online has. As we all know, there are positives and negatives in everything in life, so it's always good to be somewhat cautious. Again, I said cautious, not scared. Remember, you need to go into every new situation with an open mind and an open heart in order to find real love. Online dating can be very deflating at times, but so can dating in general be, so there's no reason not to try it. Hey, you've likely tried everything else, right? It doesn't hurt to give it a shot and open the door to finding your soulmate, which by the way, you can meet anywhere, including in an online dating site.
